For best results, Sealtite Universal Sealer should be applied at a temperature of between 60 degrees F- 80 degrees F. Dry times may be prolonged dependant on relative humidity greater the 50%. Properly prepare surface to National Wood Floor Association (NWFA) standards Surface must be free of oil, grease, dust and dirt. NEW WORK: Prepare surface by sanding in the direction of the grain. Final floor sanding should be with 100 or 120 grit screen or sandpaper. Remove dust by vacuuming and tack mop with clean cloth dampened with mineral spirits. PREVIOUSLY FINISHED WORK: Completely remove all old finishes in poor condition to bare wood. Clean surface as above. If surface is in good condition; remove wax, dirt or other contaminants by abrading and vacuum. Staining Surface: Oil or water base stains can be used prior to finish application for custom coloring. Test a sample area for product compatibility. If applying stain, do not use a sanding sealer before staining. Stain must be thoroughly dry before applying sealer.

Apply directly from can using a brush, roller, sprayer or lamb’s wool applicator, at room temperature as indicated above, and not in direct sunlight. Mixing: Before use stir thoroughly: Stir occasional during use. Apply a thin coat in the direction of wood grain. Allow sealer to dry 30-45 minutes and then apply topcoat. Do not thin.

This will dry to touch in 30 minutes. Dries to sand and recoat in 45 minutes.

Wipe up drips and spills with a rag dampened with denatured alcohol or use a solution of household ammonia and water. Clean natural bristle brushes with denatured alcohol and synthetic bristle brushes with a solution or 1 past or household ammonia and 2 parts water. To dissolve product that has dried on application tools, soak tools overnight in ammonia and water solution or alcohol. NOTE this product has only a 3 year shelf life due to contamination from prolonged contact with metal container.
