To ensure adhesion and durability, prepare the surface properly. It must be cleaned and free of all wax, grease, oil, dirt, loose or flaking material, acid substance and soap deposits. To clean floor, scrub with a detergent and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Remove powdery material from new unpainted concrete by sweeping and rinsing with clean water. Glossy painted surfaces must be dulled by sanding. Smooth troweled concrete floors should be etched with 10% muriatic acid solution, rinsed thoroughly with water and allowed to dry completely, at least 24 hours.

Stir thoroughly before using and often during application. Dunham’s Duraguard Acrylic Floor and Trim Gloss Enamel goes on quickly with synthetic bristle brush, roller or airless sprayer. Do not apply when temperature of air or surface is below 50 degrees F (10 degrees C).

This will cover approximately 500-600 square feet (46.4-55.7 square meters) per gallon, depending on surface porosity and texture. Primers: Unpainted Concrete: Dunham’s Duraguard Acrylic Floor and Trim Gloss Enamel is self priming. Thin first coat with 1 pint of water per gallon of paint and brush will into surface. Allow to dry overnight; then apply finish coat liberally, without thinning. Previously Painted Wood and Concrete: Apply first coat, without thinning, to properly prepared surface. For maximum durability, add a second coat after overnight drying. All floor enamels may become slippery when wet. Where non-skid characteristics are desired, a small amount of clean sand may be added to the paint.
