Surfaces should be dry, clean and free of dirt, dust, loose material and other contaminants which would interfere with the adhesion or appearance of this primer. Scrape off blistering and peeling paints such as calcimine paints, water soluble paints, wallpaper paste and glue size. Thoroughly wash and rinse. Wax, oil and grease should be removed from the substrate with mineral spirits applied with a cloth. Taped joints on sheet rock should be sanded smooth with care being exercised to avoid abrading the surrounding paper backing. Plaster nibs on new plaster should be scraped off, and sanded for a smooth surface. Fill all cracks and voids with prepared vinyl patching compound and allow drying. Then sand even with the adjacent surfaces. New plaster must have dried sufficiently before painting.

Dunham’s Self Priming and Top Coat Finish is ready to use but can be thinned sparingly with water to obtain proper application consistency. Never add paint thinners, oils or other paints. Apply by brush, roller or sprayer. Material should be applied with a full brush or roller and leveled off in one direction before drying, Stir thoroughly with a lifting motion to insure proper dispersion. Dunham’s Hide 'n Seal Self Priming and Top Coat Finish can be tinted with up to 2 oz. Dunham universal colorants. After primer sealer has properly dried and another coat is desired, sand lightly and dust surfaces before you finish coating. Use warm soapy water for easy clean up of paint tools immediately after job is completed. PRECAUTIONS: Do not expose DUNHAM’S Hide 'n Seal SELF PRIMING AND TOP COAT FINISH to freezing temperatures when paint is drying. Do not use DUNHAM’S Hide 'n Seal SELF PRIMING AND TOP COAT FINISH under catalyzed epoxies, epoxy polyesters or aliphatic urethanes. Air and surface temperatures should be 50 degrees F or more during application and drying times. DUNHAM Hide 'n Seal SELF PRIMING AND TOP COAT FINISH should not be used in areas subjected to constant dampness.
